Our second collaboration with New Era and Cool J’s, for a series of snapback hats based on our own imaginary Miami sport teams. Featuring some of our faves: Brian Butler, David Iglesias, Jessy Nite, and Quake. Special limited run, available in 3 colorways each, they sold out quick! And the Underdogs win again…
Extremely pleased to finally work with our Miami Heat and their in-house brand Court Culture, bringing 6 of our best into a mural collaboration located on the 300 level of the prestigious AA Arena, as well as a limited edition run of Artist Series tees. Each artist brought their own inspiration to the project, and we’re extremely proud of the end results. In order of appearance on the wall: Quake, Angel Mir, Brian Butler, Suarezism, David Iglesias, and Jessy Nite. And special thanks to Sasha Beck and the rest of the Court Culture team for making it so easy…Go Heat!
Of course, as Miamians, we’ve always wondered this. What Would Shula Do? So we drew him in all his 70′s hardnosed glory. And printed some tees. And contributed a grey scale version to a local zine “Pegajoso” by the always talented David Iglesias. We hope the Don likes it! Special thanks to David, Jerry Morris, Quake, Abstrk, Crook, & Rage Johnson for all contributing in some way, shape, or form.
When Joey Scoreseze handed us one of his newest mixes, a strange reconstruction of various 70′s and 80′s zombie movie scores, we knew we had to handle the visual aspect of the album. It spoke to us, from beyond the grave. Our idea was a post apocalyptic Miami, from the vantage point of our very own street, and it just sort of escalated from there. Special shouts to Joey, Jerry Morris, and Quake, for coming together on this appetizing project.
The University of Miami reached out to us to create a visual narrative of their history, for their 90 year anniversary exhibit in the main library. We were given full access to their photo archives, and created this “timeline” using some of our favorites. Since it was set in the Richter Library, we decided to give it the effect of torn paper, collaged and layered to reflect the history of the school. And for the adjacent wall we created a grid consisting of 90 photos of various people who have either attended or worked at UM, spanning the full 90 years. A “job” that was very close to our heart, we felt that our passion for this project really showed through. Extra special thanks to Dave and Javier at Miami Sign Shop for the intensive installation work, Jose Cabrera at UM for the amazing insight and enthusiasm, and Peter Vahan for the tricky photographic documentation, it’s all about the U…!
This project was conceived by Javier Betancourt, co-owner of Ocho Placas Tattoo in Miami, who wanted to put together a book showcasing some of the best young tattoo artists from around the world. We stepped in and worked on the logo, photo-correcting the massive amount of images he had collected, laying out the book in an organized manner, and then helping to find a great natural canvas cover stock with black foil debossing, and a smooth MacGregor paper stock for the inside pages. It was an extremely limited release, but we were excited to see how well it was received, even being recognized with a Florida Print Award. Thanks for the opportunity Javi! Special thanks to Joe Clary for the cool pics!
Amazing project we curated with New Era and Cool J’s, a local chain, bringing 4 of our artists’ visions onto hand embroidered snapback hats. Also put together a fun gallery show to highlight the hats and the artist’s works, titled “Locals Only” during Art Basel 2014. Thanks Abstrk, Atomik, Pucho and Quake for the amazing designs, Peter Vahan for the photos here, Felix over at Cool J’s for the vision, and Doron and Steven at Midpoint for allowing us the space for the show. We hope to be involved in more projects like this in the future!
